Consortech is proud to be a BeSpatial Platinum sponsor in 2022. Under the theme of connectivity, BeSpatial will be hosting its 2022 annual event virtually on May 3rd and 4th, 2022. With two half-days of conferences and presentations as well as two other half-days of workshops, the program promises to be most interesting.
In addition to present 3 sessions, we will be part of the Exhibition Room by hosting a virtual booth. Come chat with us!
Consortech will host two sessions and one workshop:
Strategies for implementing an Integration Platform into a Geospatial Technology Portfolio
Date: May 3rd, 2022 – 11:30 am to 12:05 pm
Speaker: Lesley MacKenzie
The power of geospatial information is now recognized by many Ontario municipalities. We are witnessing the decompartmentalization of GIS departments and technologies to democratize this data and integrate it into corporate systems to create new solutions and possibilities. This session will present practical advice on planning and implementing a GIS data integration platform such as FME with a medium- and long-term vision. We will discuss tips on how to stay focused on your business objectives and avoid falling into the short-term technical optimization paradigm.
BeConnected with Geospatial performance
Date: May 4th, 2022 – 11:30 am to 12:15 pm
Speaker: Lesley MacKenzie
Implementing a Geospatial Performance Improvement Strategy provides a solid foundation for delivering innovative new solutions to stakeholders and increasing the reach of GIS departments and geospatial data.
In this presentation, we will define this concept and how its main contributing components (data, technology, processes, people and governance) interact from the point of view of applying automation to seek organizational efficiencies. Use cases will be presented where automation has minimized time-consuming and tedious tasks and where integration has allowed for the combination of sources (geospatial and non-geospatial) to break down silos and create new opportunities.
Workshop: Application Integration in a SaaS context using FME
Date: May 4th, 2022 – 1:50PM to 4:50PM EDT
Speakers: Lesley MacKenzie, German Gonzalez, Theo Drogo
Application integration and near-real-time data flow management to keep different systems up to date are trending among local government organizations looking for innovative ways to streamline their operations.
To complete such projects, a solution based on the low code FME platform can be developed leveraging webhooks technology in applications and the Automation functionality in FME Server.
In this workshop we will teach you how to build a simple webhook-based automation from an ArcGIS Survey123 to automatically move survey results data into another downstream system.
At the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to:
- Create a Survey123 with a webhook
- Configure an FME Server Automation to receive information from Survey123
- Process the Survey123 data (in JSON format)
- Write to the downstream application
